Heat Packs for Cold Snaps Design Challenge Overview
Students design, construct, and test a heat pack that uses a chemical process to release thermal energy. The heat pack must reach a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius for at least 10 minutes. 
Who It’s For:
This design challenge, which comes with all necessary materials, is designed for middle schoolers (6th – 8th grade students). Using the Argument-Driven Inquiry instructional model, students will explore chemical applications, energy transfer, and transformation topics.
