In this investigation, students create a food web for the freshwater marsh at Playa del Rey and then use it to figure out how the removal of the different organisms will affect the other organisms found in this marsh.
The Freshwater Marsh at Playa Del Rey kit includes all the materials that students will need to design and carry out an investigation.
Each kit contains enough materials for eight groups of students.
Materials:
- Producer Cards: Milkweed, Cattails, and Algae
- Consumer Cards: California Tree Frog, American Wigeon, Sora, Western Pond Turtle, Garter Snake, Red-Winged Blackbird, Muskrat, Mosquito, Large Milkweed Bug, Marsh Hawk, Little Brown Bat, Freshwater Mussel, and Sunfish
